
On January 29, 2026, Kenya Wildlife Service hosted a high-level meeting at its headquarters with a delegation from the Embassy of Israel led by Ambassador H.E. Gideon Behar. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in wildlife security, conservation technology, advanced surveillance systems, intelligence sharing, and forensic science innovations aimed at dismantling wildlife crime networks.
Director General Prof. Erustus Kanga highlighted opportunities for collaboration in DNA analysis for species identification, ranger capacity-building programs, technological innovation, and joint scientific research. He emphasized the importance of strong forensic evidence in prosecuting poachers and traffickers while also identifying tourism development and bilateral knowledge exchange as mutually beneficial areas of engagement.
The meeting, attended by Mrs. Eke Behar, Mr. Polycarp Otieno, and Ms. Pauline Arunga, reinforced a shared commitment to biodiversity conservation, climate action, and sustainable stewardship of Kenya’s natural heritage.
